The parish of Moulsford is located in South Oxfordshire; its church was founded in the 12th century and St John the Baptist is still home to a friendly community. We meet for regular worship (almost) every Sunday of the year, as well as celebrating Christian festivals and national events. The majority of our worship is based on Common Worship, including the regular celebration of Holy Communion, but also lay-led services prayer and reflection See the Worship page for further details). We are also enthusiastic about nurturing our local and international connections to serve and share the love of God with our neighbours, both near and far.
Our Connections
Moulsford forms a Church of England benefice with its neighbouring parish of St Mary's Cholsey. For more information about St Mary's, please visit their website.
Together with St Mary's, we join with a larger family of Churches in the Wallingford Deanery of the Diocese of Oxford.
We are also privileged to form a partnership with St Phillip’s Anglican Church, Huhudi, in South Africa. See the Huhudi page for further details.
A bit of history
The current building was erected in 1847 under the direction of Gilbert Scott, although the west wall and tower predate this and may include something of the 12th century structure that was on the same site.
In 1997, the honorary assistant curate, the Revd John Mackney, composed a short history: The 150th Anniversary of the Consecration of our restored Parish Church.
