On Sunday 4th October, Harvest Festival was celebrated at St John the Baptist, Moulsford. As well as giving thanks for the abundance of creation and the good things we enjoy, we remembered the plight of UK farmers who face many current challenges. Drawing on the resources of the Arthur Rank Centre (an ecumenical charity advocating for rural Christians, rural churches and the communities they serve) donations were arranged, decorating the church to encourage joy, gratitude and reflection.
Thanks to Revd Martyn Thorne who led our service, to all who donated produce and especially to the talented team of decorators.
Special thanks to children from Moulsford Preparatory School who provided the paper wreaths of fruit and vegetables adorning the altar rail.
Following the service, the donations were passed on to a local food bank.
